New Publication: Scoping review of "No-Code" mHealth app research tools
New publication led by DHL PhD Candidate Amanda Willms!
Advances in mobile health (mHealth) apps and wearable devices are revolutionizing physical activity research. By enabling real-time, context-sensitive assessments like ecological momentary assessments (EMAs) and experience sampling, along with personalized interventions such as just-in-time adaptive interventions (JITAIs), these technologies are pushing the boundaries of research methods. However, app development has historically required extensive programming expertise—until now. Our recent scoping review highlights 11 ‘no-code’ mHealth tools, providing researchers with powerful, accessible platforms to implement EMAs, JITAIs, and microrandomization trials, while considering crucial factors like data privacy and security.
